Ten Servings of White Dish [for Lent]. Get one and a half pounds of skinned almonds and grind them up; get a crustless loaf of bread soaked in pea broth; get half a pound of boiled fish flesh, and grind everything together; get eight ounces of sugar, half an ounce of ginger and three ounces of rosewater, distemper these together, strain them, and cook the mixture for about an eighth of an hour on the coals, so that it does not pick up smoke.
