Posting Guidelines MC Logo

These guidelines are mostly common courtesy.

For help, send email to imailsrv@medievalcookery.com with the text "help" in the body of the message.

Subject Tags: While there are no special provisions for topics in the mailing list software, idenifying the place (e.g. "England", "Wales", "Russia") and time period (e.g. "1450", "12th Century", "900-1100AD") allow list members with a particular interest in that place and/or time to more easily identify and respond to your post.

If you feel that you absolutely must post a message that does not directly relate to the subject of Medieval Cooking, please place the tag "OOP" (Out of Period) or "OT" (Off Topic) in your email subject.

Cross Posting: Please do not post messages from other mailing lists without checking first to see if there's sufficient interest on this list. Cross posting often means that people on several lists can end up receiving the same email many times. Also, do not post messages from other list members to other mailing lists without receiving prior permission.

Commercial Posts: This list is not meant for conducting private business. If you've just opened a new medieval cookware shop, a post that briefly states such is acceptable as news. Posts about the weekly bargans at your new medieval cookware shop are not.

Conversations: Arguments, heated conversations, or discussions of "religious" matters between two people, and the beating of dead horses should be moved off-list.
