Medieval Pottery

Anglo Saxon pottery, AD400-500.  Burnished and reduced ware with incised decoration.  British Museum Recreation of maplewood bottles from Sutton Hoo burial site.  Nice form.  C7

Tall jug with green (lead) glaze.  C13.  Taken with 1600 ASA film through glass without flash or a tripod (fuzzy shot, sorry)
Jug decorated with overlapping leaves. C13.  British museum.  Coming soon my version of this jug. (three hours of applying leaves!).
Lead glazed earthernware cup.  Moulded.  Made in France 1550 - 1600.  As the contents are drunk the nudity of the figure reclining within is slowly revealed.
Earthernware Jug.  Italian, 1150 - 1250.  Painted beneath lead glaze.  Interesting spout.  British Museum
